​Unto, FI CH TRA CH Mallorn's Comet, was born February 29th 2008 in Anu Honkapirtti's kennel Mallorn's. There were five dogs in the litter and a bitch. Two of the dogs were black, other puppies were chocolate. Unto's pedigree, all health details, show and test results can be seen from Finnish Kennel Club's database.

 

Unto has a lovely lab temperature - he is calm, open, cheerful, active and a quick learner. Unto gets along well with other dogs and people and is always ready and happy to participate :-).

We have practised obedience with Unto and took a few tests earlier also. Due to the obedience Unto is a well-mannered dog and easy to work with :-).

​

Water rescue is something we got interested in a two years ago. It was a good hobby as Unto loves swimming.  It was great to see how Unto enjoyed the activity. We might get back to practising water rescue one of these days.

​

Blood tracking is Unto's main hobby. We came across to it three years ago in Länsi-Pohja Retriever Club. And immediately it proved to be for us :-). Unto is competing in Champion Class and misses two 1st prizes to become a Tracking Finnish Champion. Many weekends during summer time we spend in the woods either organising a tracking test or competing in them. :-)

Retrieving is obviously also on the agenda. Unto is qualified in the field and goes hunting every autumn with Hannu (duck birds and grouse). We practise retrieving throughout the year as it is also something Unto enjoys doing - I guess there is no retriever who wouldn't :-).
